BANK OVERVIEW
Community State
traces its roots to the Farmers & Miners Bank, founded
in 1883 in Lucas. A group of investors purchased Farmers &
Miners Bank in 1993 and moved the main office to its present
location at Orchard Plaza on the north side of Indianola.
The bank, which
was renamed at that time, continues to maintain a branch office
in Lucas. The vision of the bank’s investors was to
provide the depositors with a community-based and locally
owned financial institution, and today’s staff shares
in that vision.
The bank’s
philosophy has been a successful one, as shown in its rapid
growth. Deposits and loans have increased substantially since
the move to Indianola. According to Keith Welling, President
and CEO of the bank since 1993, “the growth happened
because we aggressively went after the business.”
Loan demand continues
to be strong and growth continues to be excellent in this
area. “Our size enables us to work in direct partnership
with loan applicants,” explained Welling. “Our
strong correspondent banking relationships allow us to write
substantial commercial and ag loans,” he said. In addition,
the bank’s local ownership and management allows for
decisions to be made quickly.
More evidence of
the bank’s success and growth is found in the bank branches.
The West Roads branch, located on the west side of Indianola
on Highway 92, opened June 7, 2000, and provides bank customers
another convenient Indianola location to conduct their business.
On April 1, 2003, the bank’s Norwalk branch was opened
on Highway 28 in the Legacy Golf Course building development.
Our focus on quality and customer service stands out once
again as of June 1, 2007 when Community State Bank's newest
branch was opened in Newton at 2506 1st Ave.
The bank remains
very committed to serving the needs of Warren County and the
surrounding area. “We’ll continue to grow here,”
said Welling. “People and businesses want the kind of
personalized relationship they have with Community State Bank.”

A
Letter from the President
On
behalf of the directors, officers and staff of Community
State Bank, welcome to our website! We hope you will
find our site to be a useful and fun place to visit.
At
Community State Bank, we are committed to
providing our customers with unsurpassed service. Our website
and e-mail are just two more ways that we intend to assist
our customers with their financial needs. Of course, these
electronic means will never take the place of the highly-personalized
service you will receive from us, whether it be inside the
bank, thru the drive-up lane, or on the telephone. In our
fast-paced, high-tech world, we understand that an internet
presence is necessary, and we are pleased to be taking that
next step to be of better service to you. And when you do
call us by phone don’t be surprised when a live person
answers, EXPECT IT!
If at any time you have comments or suggestions about our
site, please feel free to call 961-5880 or
e-mail us at csb@csbindianola.com.
We’d love to hear from you.
Sincerely,
Keith
Welling
President/CEO

the following privacy statement for officers, directors, and
employees. This privacy statement applies to individuals,
and Community State Bank reserves the right to amend it at

submit an online application, it will be transmitted over
a secure connection using encryption, and will alert you to
this fact. This is the case where confidential information,
such as your account number or social security number, is
requested. Visitors may elect to provide us with personal
information via e-mail. This information is used internally,
as appropriate, to handle the sender’s request and manage
the Community State Bank web site. It is not disseminated
or sold to other organizations. Visitors should, however,
keep in mind e-mail is not necessarily secure against interception.
If you do not agree with the use of this information, or are

State Bank ATM card or debit card. If you are asked for this
information, please call (515) 961-5880 and report it to a
customer service representative immediately.
Our
Collection, Use, and Retention of Customer Information
We
collect, use, and retain information about our customers only
where we reasonably believe it would be useful in administering
our business, and providing products, services, or other opportunities
to our customers. We collect and retain information only for
specific business purposes – and will tell you why we
are collecting and retaining it upon your request. We use
information to protect and administer our customers’

in order to respond to questions or concerns that you may
have expressed.

Maintenance of Accurate Information
We
have implemented procedures to help assure that our customers’
financial information is accurate, current, and complete in
accordance with commercial standards. While some procedures
are required by federal or state law, we also have procedures
for responding to requests to correct inaccurate information
in a timely manner, and to update information and remove old
information. Customers should notify us immediately at (515)
961-5880 or P.O. Box 257, Indianola, IA 50125-0257 if they
receive information regarding their relationship with us that
they believe to be inaccurate.
Limited
Employee Access to Information
We
have procedures and security levels that limit employee access
to personally identifiable information to those with a business
reason to know such information. The importance of confidentiality
and customer privacy is addressed personally to each employee
by the bank president, Keith Welling. Appropriate disciplinary
measures are taken to enforce employee privacy responsibilities.
Restrictions

Maintaining
Customer Privacy in Business Relationships with Outside Third

a vendor or service company we hire to provide support or
services for one or more of our products. These vendors and
service companies agree to safeguard our confidential customer
information and must abide by applicable law. We may also
share customer information with affiliates of Community State
Bank in order for customers to receive information about products
and services we believe to be of interest to them. You have
the right to limit this sharing and use of information by
contacting us at P.O. Box 257, Indianola, IA 50125 and making
a written request.
